E-learning Operations Professional
It’s an all-to-common problem: You’ve got great Instructional Design. You’ve got great Creative and Media. You’ve got great Tech. Why doesn’t it all work together smoothly?
This is where I come in: I specialize in supporting innovative learning organizations that need a skilled professional to take on Product Manager, Project Manager, Operations Manager, and Design/Dev Team Individual Contributor roles… often simultaneously! I bring a strong background in learning design, graphic design, technical communications, and systems consulting to my operations work for e-learning and learning technology organizations.
I’m a dedicated, quality-obsessed, efficiency-focused professional who can contribute across multiple disciplines — solving problems, clearing roadblocks, supporting your team in doing their best work, or filling a range of specialist individual contributor roles — all while meeting your organization’s operational, financial, and market objectives in these very uncertain times.
I’m available on a consulting or fractional basis through LXD Integral Learning, or on a full time basis for fixed term contracts. Looking to fill a permanent staff position instead? (Is that you, Athabasca University?) If so, Let’s talk!
This page is written for the human reader, rather than being optimized for AI or ATS systems. Non-human readers may prefer my bot-friendly resume in Markdown format. Both human and non-human readers may also be interested in my LinkedIn profile, and in my more conventional PDF resume.
Thanks for visiting!

- Provided data analysis, including Google Analytics for engagement analysis, and xAPI Learning Record Store (LRS) data for in-depth learning impact analysis.
- Developed and implemented automated certification and badging solutions across multiple platforms, supporting individual courses, multi-course certificate programs, and institution-wide certification initiatives.
- Hands-on production and full life cycle maintenance of e-learning assets, modules and courses on multiple design and development platforms.
- E-learning instructional design writing, editing and quality assurance, including updating and syncing storyboards and published SCORM modules for large enterprise projects.
- Created technical documentation and performance support materials including videos, handouts and infographics for online, print, and downloadable delivery modes.
- LMS usability and accessibility optimization (AODA, WCAG 2.1 AA), applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles of globally inclusive and culturally aware use of language, visual representation, and readability levels.
- Created opportunity assessments, and wrote grant and RFP/RFQ documents to support business development and growth in the e-learning sector.
- Designed and implemented evidence-based learner engagement strategies and journey frameworks, incorporating achievement recognition, scenario-based learning, motivational feedback systems, and structured reflection exercises that connect directly to workplace application.
- Designed learning pathways with optimal prerequisites, course scheduling, and intuitive navigation structures to maximize learning outcomes while minimizing cognitive load.
- Directed LMS UX/LXD redesign projects to enhance course engagement and learning effectiveness.
- Managed SR&ED research projects implementing AI integrations and workflow automations for e-learning systems.
- Created and led innovative pilot projects in emerging domains: microcredentials, rapid-deployment custom LMS systems, and AI integrations and applications.
Microcredentials Integration Plugin — I led the integration of WordPress-based LMS systems with the Mozilla Open Badge system, and the development of the first WordPress Open Badge integration plugin, which has now been released under the GPL. (https://github.com/PathWise-Solutions-Inc/Open-Badge-Wordpress-Plugin) This is a project I am still involved in as a maintainer and contributor.
eLearning UX Design — Directed the redesign of Anima Leadership’s courseware and e-learning systems, enhancing UX and LXD for their leadership courses and consulting services, as well as creating an innovative DEI audit tool that allows organizations to gather detailed departmental competency data without compromising staff privacy.
Prior Learning Assessment System — Created a prior learning assessment self-audit tool for College of Applied Biology (CAB) applicants that cross-references learning assessment evidence with the various program requirements of this professional governing body for professional biologists.
Cooperative NGO Web Support Program — Designed and implemented an innovative ‘Shared Web Services’ support model for non-profit agencies, effectively addressing the web lifecycle support challenge faced by these grant-funded organizations.
Educationally-focused websites — Led the design, development, and support teams in the creation of multiple education-related web projects, including ACE-WIL, a regional workplace integrated learning consortium; and the College of Applied Biology and BC Association of Clinical Counsellors professional association websites.
SR&ED Alignment Coordination — Managed the alignment of eLearning and LMS research projects with the SR&ED hypothesis-based research structure, ensuring that over 3000 hours of innovative research and development projects met all requirements for federal funding under the program. As part of this project I created workflow automations and AI integrations to document all research.
Custom LMS Implementations — Delivered tailored enterprise-level LMS solutions for multiple clients, including the Natural Resource Training Group, and TECHNATION Canada, among many other enterprise and organizational clients. Here are some examples of projects I coordinated and led:
My work at PathWise gave me the opportunity to work with and advise many clients in the government, non-profit and corporate sectors, as well as allowing me to work with and nurture a diverse team of designers and developers, guiding them from initial recruitment through their development as established professionals.
It was an immensely rewarding experience, and laid the groundwork for my current work as a consultant and fractional operations and product/project manager under LXD Integral Learning Ltd.
I maintain a close vendor/client and referral relationship with PathWise, and wish them well on their new Indigenous-focused initiatives.

Web Developer/Analyst
Brescia University College (Western University) – London, ON

March 1999 – September 2011
Hired as a web developer for TM Communications, a scientific and technical publisher, I was primarily responsible for the transformation of the company into TM NewMedia, a multimedia design and development agency focused on the then-emerging field of e-learning.
- Designed and developed significant web, knowledge management, and e-learning projects, including the BC Legislative Assembly website and Hansard document management system (DMS). (2000-2004)
- Planned and led design and development of AECIS, a highly customized secure inter-agency knowledge-sharing SharePoint portal for BC Government agencies engaged with British Columbia First Nations (2006-2010)
- Developed online course components and a custom LMS for The Natural Step Canada, a leading sustainability consultancy (2004-2008)
- Developed learning management system integrations for the World Bank Institute Cities and Climate Change Mitigation eLearning initiative (2010-2011).

TM NewMedia was my first opportunity to engage deeply in the planning and management of major multi-agency projects. I learned a great deal about requirements gathering, scheduling, planning and organizing complex workflows, as well as risk management and change management during the project life cycle.

- Led graphic production and pre-press for this busy Victoria-based social marketing agency.
- Hands-on production of print (full and spot colour), signage, interactive (CD-ROM), visual identity packages, and advertising media deliverables.
